MacMillan Coffee Morning

This year we held our MacMillan Coffee Morning on Saturday 27 September, so we weren’t competing with similar events earlier in the week. And it seems to paid off as we had a particularly good response. With many generous donations of cakes and other goodies, our customers had plenty to choose from, and quite a few took a ‘doggy bag’ home. In addition to enjoying the food and beverages many took the opportunity to have a guided tour around our Temple to find out what we do as Freemasons and were suitably impressed.

It was a joint effort with W. Bro Chris James and Worshipful Master Chris Brooke serving the cakes and drinks, ably supported in the kitchen by the WM’s wife Anne and Bro Neil Sunderland, while W. Bro Peter Kuzemka gave the Temple tours, with W. Bros Jerry Hann and Brian Parry keeping our guests happy.

This was the second time we have held a MacMillan Coffee Morning, and although not charging for the refreshments, we are pleased that donations raised a total of £210 that we will top up from Lodge charity funds.
